I’m one very imperfect guy, in need of a Savior. I found salvation in Jesus Christ. I now think it’s necessary to take the steps of doing something with my life, instead of doing nothing.
I have deep respect for those who serve their countries. Whether those in the armed services or first responders, they should be held in high regard by society at large. They are servants in the best sense of the word. I face nothing compared to them, so they are a focus in prayer for me and I sincerely wish them well.
I have taken great interest in how different organizations develop their people. Success seems to be found when they begin with the end product in mind and run the process through with intentional evolutions.
I believe I need to get off the mark as a Christian. I want to progress in the faith. This does not happen by accident.
Putting on my “Bose” headphones, and turning off life noise, was the first step. I no longer pay attention to CNN or Foxnews. I have a very few positive things on Instagram and that’s it for social media. You are what you consume. People with purpose and the study of character are my diet.
I have becoming a fan of the late Jerry Bridges. The Pursuit of Holiness, The Practice of Godliness, and Respectable Sins are books I keep going over.
I now see myself developing faith evolutions for myself. To have vision, strategies, and tactics whereby growth in Christian character will happen.
Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him. 2 Timothy 2:3-4
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. -Philippians 2:5-8
One of the young men answered, “Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a man of good presence, and the LORD is with him.” – 1 Samuel 16:18
